Sponge cake with vanilla glazed icing

 Thursday, September 3, 2009

This is my first try on making sponge cake.Everytime i used to buy betty croaker cake mix,so jus wanted to give shot nad it came out well.I googled many sites and finally came out with my proportion of ingredients. It was so soft and i thought of taking step by step clicks but let me give a try for the future post.I planned to give butter cream icing, but afetr i baked it my kid got up so ended up with vanilla glazed icing.

Method

  • In a bowl beat 2 eggs for 1 min untill they become light. Now add 1 1/2 cup sugar and a pinch of salt.Mix them well.
  • Now add 1 cup of milk to this mixture.
  • I used beater for mixing all the ingredients. Then slowly mix 1 cup of all-purpose flour to it.Beat well so that no lumps are formed. Then finally add 1 tsb of vanilla essence and 1/2 tsb of baking powder.
  • Pre-heat oven to 350 deg F .
  • Brush cake pan with butter and then sprinkle it with flour evenly.Pour the mixture and bake it for 30 mins.
  • Cool it for 10 mins and finally pour the glazed icing over the cake.
