I’d like to post the recipe, below, for the Power less cooking event hosted by easy crafts. It’s one of my all time faves, it suits well for both Breakfast and evening Tiffin. Hmm....this is an easy and quick dish that doesn’t need any power at all. It’s absolutely eligible for this event.
Aval puttu

Ingredients
1.Aval -1 cup
2.Shredded Coconut-1/4 cup
3.Sugar-5tsp
4.Elachi powder-1/2 tsp
Method
Wash aval twice or thrice and soak it for 5 seconds.Then drain the water completely.Now mix coconut,sugar and elachi powder.
Rice puttu

Ingredients
1.Rice flour-1 cup
2.Sugar-5tsp
3.Elachi powder-1/2 tsp
4.Ghee
5.Shredded coconut-1/4cup
Method
Wet rice flour with a few drops of water and steam it in idly cooker.Then mix it with sugar,coconut and elachi powder.While servingadd a few drops of ghee and serve them hot.

Sure ,this is a perfect entry for the event. My hubby prepares this all the time if I ask him for a snack and also during festivals. I've never watched him do this. But I love it. Thanks for your version. Looks very good.

I should start crying, i have not had puttu in a year and a half.
When i am back at home one of the first thing my mom make is puttu and kadalaka curry.
Sena, I love Rice puttu. My GM use to make it. Adding that dash of Coconut just lifts this up. I eat it with Ghee and sugar. Thx for your recipe

I usually get store bought puttu packets and then follow the instructions.. No one in my house loves puttu and aval except me..
didnt make it for a long time and after seeing it want to make it soon.
